ABOUT THE ARTIST

Katie Musolff grew up in West Allis WI and attended the Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design, graduating in 2004 with a BFA in painting.  With that, she started a portrait painting business to fund her other art endeavors.  She usually concentrates on painting the people she finds around her, creating and documenting small communities in her small world.  She is currently painting all of the people that live on her block and the employees at the Pfister Hotel where she is the current Artist-in-Residence.  Katie has shown her work all over Wisconsin, including the Overture Center in Madison, the Museum of Wisconsin Art in West Bend, the Kohler Art Center in Sheboygan and is also represented by Elaine Erickson Gallery in Milwaukee.
